EFI Installation – The Finishing Touch

Yes, I know. I realize engraving may appear to be a little off-topic.
But, when a guy has spent his hard-earned money on his pride and joy, sometimes it’s the small things that can make all the difference.
Whether you own the car, or are working on a customer’s car, you can add a great finishing touch for less than $50.
I’ll give you an example:
We did an installation for a customer running dual fuel (petrol and LPG), plus he wanted to run two boost levels. He wanted two switches on the dash to achieve these actions. One to switch between the two fuels, and the other to switch between high boost and low boost.
We sourced two switches that looked very similar to the original switches in the vehicle. Which by itself would have probably been good enough for the customer. But..
Then…. and this is the kicker…
We took the switches to a trophy supplier, and had them laser engraved in the same font as the other switches on the dash.
We did this without the customer knowing (he knew about the switches, but not about the engraving).
When he sat in the car for the first time (when he came to pick it up), he was blown away by the switches.
The 2 switches plus the engraving cost less than $50, but the way they looked in the dash was priceless.
You too can do these extra little things that can make your favorite project car that much more special and complete. It doesn’t take that much effort, but it is well worth it.
